What are concession lockers and how can I, by offering my customers an additional service, benefit from it?

Concession/Revenue Share is a well established and popular business model in North America, Australia and the Far East, but has only recently arrived in Europe. Basically it’s about adding value to your business through offering additional services to your existing customers without the need to find additional capital or human resources.

 

ulockers offer to place a number of top quality, electronically controlled, lockers at you location for use by your existing clients. There will be NO cost to you for either the lockers, their installation or their ongoing maintenance and support—that’s all covered by ulockers . All you need to do is supply the right site and the little electricity (<50 watts) they need to operate and deal with any day to day  customer assistance issues. The size and configuration of the bank of lockers will depend on the needs of the site and will be agreed prior to installation by you.

 

You clients pay for the use of their exclusive , insured, monitored and alarmed locker for the period they need it, typically 2 to 24 hour periods with any overtime being paid on collection. The system has a full audit trail so all transactions and fees collected are fully accounted for and visible to both yourselves and ulockers . We agree a percentage share of the income at the outset of our concession agreement. The system is totally self service, so involves little or no draw on your existing staff resources.

 

Every system is remotely monitor 24/7/365 but also has local management control functions, so when necessary you can open any locker for inspection—again each opening is monitored and logged so your staff can not be compromised with false claims of goods going astray.

A typical concession agreement is for 3 years (this is to allow for a return on our investment) but we also offer a limited number of small trial systems which are usually placed at a location for up to 3 months so we can ascertain the sites needs and the utilization viability.

 

Think of it as “a vending machine for fresh air”, but one you don’t have to buy, merchandise or maintain—

just share in its revenue.
